Gary Fooks

Gary is a highly accomplished leader in the Canadian mortgage industry, with numerous awards to his name. As the CEO and co-founder of 8Twelve Mortgage, a nationally licensed mortgage brokerage with top-tier institutional mortgage lending partners, he has established himself as a driving force in the industry. With extensive experience underwriting and funding over $2 billion in residential mortgages through A, B, and alternative channels, Gary has proven his expertise time and again. His excellence has been recognized through numerous awards, including being named a top 20 independent mortgage agent in 2016, 2017, and 2018, as well as a top 10 independent mortgage agent in 2017 and 2018. Gary is a licensed Mortgage Broker and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Ontario.
Jason Baibokas is a highly experienced finance professional with over 20 years of investment and capital markets experience. He has held key roles as a partner, steering committee member, and board member at both bulge bracket and boutique investment firms. Throughout his career, he has advised on and raised billions of dollars of capital across hundreds of alternative and public debt and equity transactions. Jason is particularly adept at identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities, and he was formerly a member of the Steering Committee of a boutique dealer that successfully exited to Stifel Financial (NYSE: SF). Prior to this, Jason held various roles in derivatives, structured products, and hedge funds at TD Financial Group and Merrill Lynch, where he launched Merrill’s first-ever principally protected note product in the Canadian market, raising over $140 million. Jason is a CFA charter holder and holds an MBA from the prestigious Rotman School of Management.

Steve Totani is the Director of Mortgage Investments and has been instrumental in the success of 8Twelve’s alternative mortgage lending division for the past few years. With over a decade of experience in the real estate and mortgage industries and having closed hundreds of millions in real estate transactions, Steve brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. Throughout his career, Steve has worked with several Fortune 500 companies, including Sony, McDonald’s, and IBM, and has a proven track record of building high-performing teams in multiple disciplines. Steve is also a licensed Mortgage Broker and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
